About

BRAND

Vanda Jacintho is a luxury evening resort wear and statement jewelry brand, produced in Brazil and Italy, made to travel the world.

Instantly recognizable the world over for its iconic artsy prints and use of fine materials, namely silk, resin and mahogany, the brand brings together the designer and founder's unique Brazilian upbringing and unparalleled flair for fashion and exquisite taste in the arts.

Embodying sophistication and versatility, and playing off the idea of 'travelling light', one size fits all Italian silk panneaux can be worn four ways: a sarong, trousers, a jumspuit and a dress. Museum worthy sculptural jewelry with architectural dimensions and tactile appeal give an avant-garde touch to the Jacintho woman's wardrobe.

Born and raised in Brazil, Vanda's collections are famed for their evocative imagery, influenced by a childhood spent growing up in the lush tropical surroundings of her family's farm in the Pantanal wetlands region. Expressing herself through a passion for prints, jaguars and birds of paradise, corals and exotic wild flowers create vibrant wearable art. Inspiration is also drawn from the savoir-faire of the Mediterranean lifestyle and the arts, Dadaism and Bauhaus and artists such as Sophie Taubert and Escher.

THE DESIGNER

Internationally renowned fashion editor, designer and consultant, Jacintho's career began aged 17 when she was selected to assist the Fashion Editor of Vogue Brazil. Her subsequent 12 year career in the fashion industry saw her working for publications in London including the Sunday Times, Flaunt and Tatler UK where she had the honor of working alongside Isabella Blow.

After returning to Brazil and founding bikini brand “Beach Couture”, Jacintho noticed a niche in the market for her versatile, day-to-night, silk panneaux which she initially made as cover-ups for the beach. With stylish instruction booklets showing how to take the silks from beach to bar and at all dinner parties she launched her eponymous brand in 2014.
